It looks like this is going to be a spectaculare golfcourse.
I was amazed by some of the photos.... what lovely nature, and what amazing use of it to "insert" a golf course into it.

gave me a bit of a links feeling...... :)

I am certainly going to go play it when it opens.... :)

when is this project due finished, and how many holes will there be totally?

The course is spectacular. All the fairways are sand based (80/20% sand/peat). No landing area is less than 40 metres wide on the Par 4s or Par 5s, in fact they are 50-60 metres wide in some areas.

We have installed nearly 90 catch basins as well which is more than any other nine hole course in Norway. The drainage was designed by our drainage engineer from Scotland Ray Morris.

The greens and fairways will be fescue (rodsvingel) as this was deemed best for this area by our agronomist George Shiels and Jon Atle Repstad (Felleskopet).

The greens average at about 450m2 and the range is nearly 300m long and the teeing area is about 15 metres above the range.

The last of the seed should go down next week so an opening next year is almost certain.

It is a nine hole course with an option for more land over the road in later years if the course is successful.

The cost of a playing share is only 8000 NOK!! That is ridiculously cheap in my opinion.

Det ser ut til at det blir en meget fin bane i flott, om enn noe uvant natur for oss østlendinger. Tok også en kikk på baneguiden, og det ser ut til å bli en veldig variert og fin bane. Ikke mye skog, men det vil nok være nok av problemer for de som ikke holder seg på fairway.

Jeg har dessverre ikke nok erfaring til å vurdere bildene fra konstruksjonsfasen på en ordentlig måte, men jeg må si at man skal ha fantasien i orden for å kunne se mulighetene for en golfbane noen av stedene.

Regner med at bildet er av hull 4?... det ser jo ut til at det kan bli et spennende hull ..... litt mye GUR nå ser det ut som...hehe..... Alltid spennende med nye golfbane prosjekt. Er den bygd i "månelandskapet" før Jæren ... området har jo helt unik natur... håper nyetableringen får gode vilkår!

Ser utrolig flott ut det er helt klart...

Bare ett spørsmål, hvordan blir roughen? Lyng som på Kragerø? Med andre ord vanskelig å finne ball utenfor fairway?

The rough is heather (lyng) and the peat bog but our fairways are twice the width of Kragero in some areas they are 60 metres wide! The thinnest fairway is about 40 metres. So you can use the driver on every Par 4 and 5. The Par 5 is about 530 metres long.
