Graeme and I popped in at the course last Thursday and we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the greens.
A closer inspection of the putting green and green 18 showed that although there is some winter damage (looked like snow mold), it is minimal.
I am biased about this course and the people that work there but anyone who is anywhere near the south of Norway this year should take a look at this course.
The course being built upon 'slag' drains superbly and being a mountain course the greens are seeded with 'krypveien' A4 grass. The greens on Thursday looked dense and it looks like a good season for them.
You will either learn to love the greens or your putting stroke will be found out and you will hate them! I think Graeme (who is my partner, I know, I know) has done a fantastic job. Olav Magne Trydal is a superb Daglig Leder and is a gentleman.
This course deserves a visit not only for the design but also for effort these people have put into the project. Mention that you saw this on Scangolf and Olav Magne might even give you free coffee!
