I recommend all those interested in golf, especially those interested in architecture to watch this weekends tournament.
The golf course was designed by George Thomas and constructed by Billy Bell. This course is ranked number 25 in America by Golfweek in it's Classic category.
Some of the course has been redesigned by Tom Fazio, some believe ruined by Tom Fazio. You can read more about that at www.golfobserver.com.
The tenth is only 315 yards Par 4. This is what is written about the hole on pga.com:
Jack Nicklaus call this "one of the best tenth holes in major championship golf." A short hole, but by no means easy. Longer hitters can drive this green, but extreme accuracy is required. The ideal spot to come into this green is from the left side of the fairway. An extremely narrow green with bunkers right, left and behind gives this hole its character.
Just watch some of the pros go for the green and still end up with bogeys.
Enjoy this weekend.
